just wondering if there is any difference between the NZVF n95 8bg and the import ones?
ive sold my n95-2 already and looking to get another one.

The Vodafone one is worse, thats all I know. Terrible Vodafone firmare - and they only have the V11 firmware (checked instore the other day) - which lacks inbuilt flash video support + other fixes available on the V15 firmware.

Yep, totally agree. Imports are better!

Import it

I imported a few thru Nokia Hk and all of them supported vodafone live.I even upgraded the firmware for buyers too to the latest version.

Don't buy from vodafone.It is over priced

V 15 has been available for the last week via NSU.

For Vodafone branded handsets? Thats very fast from Vodafone in that case, well done to them! Doesn't change the fact that their version of V20 is likely to be worse than Nokia's (slower, additional bugs), and Vodafone NZ overcharges for handsets.

Now if only Vodafone would get around to releasing their own V20 firmware for Classic owners...

Yes, for Vodafone branded handsets.

TBH I found the previous firmware version for N95 8GB to be quicker.

It seems that Vodafone don't care about people who bought N95-1 anymore and they will not change the firmware to v20. Cause it's cost them money and why would you invest in a product which has already successors (N95 8GB)?

This is only my opinion, but I think this is happening actually. Otherwise we would have the VF v20 already for N95-1, don't you think?

Thats likely to be either due to third party apps, or the Vodafone firmware, its certainly not the experience of those on the Nokia firmware to my knowledge (Rafe at Allaboutsymbian was especially gushing about the V15 firmware, he's a nice guy and a reliable source).

isn't the N95-8GB always gona be faster though? i mean, it does have more ram so i would assume it would always be faster no matter what the firmware.

I'm running the vanilla flavour and no third party apps.

Its still quick, just seems a whole lot jerkier.

I hope I am wrong, cause I have a N95-1 too. :) Usually the operator version firmwares coming out much faster after the main firmware releases. In this case -I dont know why- they just didnt do it. I hope they were just waiting for the v21 firmware and they will release the VF version of that soon. :) speculations - speculations - speculations

lol. it's called flashing the firmware. of course the vodafone software sucks, it doesn't mean you have to buy an imported handset.
