I have recently gotten myself a nokia parallel imported N82, which i think is a fantasic device even if total overkill for my needs (nz nokia maps issues aside). but hey... i'm sure i'll start "needing" all these functions as soon as i can master them properly :)

At home i have a windows based laptop, however at work i have a MacPro: aside from iSync is there any other software anyone can recommend (ie: with the ability to load aps and maps to the phone)

NZtechFreak i'm looking in your direction here (and eagerly awaiting the next installment of your blog on n95 GPS aswel Smile)

also any recomendations on firmware versions would be appreciated. I've seen a lot of talk about the n95 and v20. Given i'm surrounded by wi-fi for 90% of my day i'd like to keep AGPS off and keep my data charges to a minimum (or non-existant) is this possible with v20 (or whatever the newest n82 version is?)

thanks in advance

I normally use google maps and just use it thru my wireless

Congrats testing123! I agree, once you start using them you'll soon be wondering how you ever managed without them (like powersteering in cars, phones with buttons instead of dials, broadband internet - I categorise these as "things you never knew you always needed).

Not at the present time, even Garmin's maploader is PC-based exclusively for the meantime. This may change relatively soon - at Nokiaworld they said that Ovi's final roll-out with be simultaneous for PC and MAC (for whatever thats worth, they also said that NGage would be out in like November last year too!).

You can turn off AGPS in Tools - Settings - General - Positioning - Positioning Methods.

Regarding firmware - I would stay put for the meantime. There is a new firmware with inbuilt geotagging due soon, along with some other improvements - I'd wait for that one.
