My phone decided to change back one hour the weekend just gone because it must hae thought daylight savings finished that weekend and not April 6.

Was it the fault of my Nokia E70 phone, or was this a Vodafone issue? How did the phone know to change?

Also, where does the phone get it's GMT time from? How does it know what time GMT is?

Thanks.

Nokia S60 phones have the daylight saving dates in the firmware and as a result are unaware that the DST dates have changed in New Zealand.

I started a thread about this yesterday that you can read here.

There is no way to load new DST dates into an old phone and no way to disable DST automatic changes.

It appears that firmware upgrades for some devices (such as the N95) have the new corrected DST dates but some other phones such as my E65 do not have the corrected dates even with firmware updates that came out only a few months ago.
