Flash Lite 3 and WRT support are the big changes, and a bunch of bugs are fixed also. Read about it in more depth at the link supplied.

I know i'll be trying to upgrade when i get home tonight.

You can try but you'll be waiting a few months before update are release to other countries around the world

I know I waited for 2 months before an update was release for the N82 version from Nokia HK

Good luck waiting unless you modify the product code

I got a parallel imported phone and am updating all 102.9mb as i type this. No wait at all.

If you couldn't upgrade why wouldn't you change the product code? Its not like it harms the phone at all, and since the phone isn't released here yet its not even like you'd be voiding a Vodafone warranty...

Yes I know you can change the mobile's product code and it won't void the warranty

I can change the product code too for my N82 but because I require traditional chinese and simplified chinese texting thats the reason I won't change the product code.

Good for people who can understand english only but for people who know more than 1 language.I think I will wait

Well, finally got around to upgrading my firmware...

i have noticed a SIGNIFICANT improvement in speed of menus etc: i was looking into factory resets last week as somehow i had done something to make my N82 sluggish and somewhat unresponsive... but after the upgrade i would definately go as far as saying it was a lot faster than it was when fresh out of the box!

The RotateMe function is also a lot more responsive and co-operative (previously it had a habit of only rotating when i WASNT trying to show off the feature..!)

i haven't dived into the GeoTagging yet, as i dont have an accurate map system loaded into my phone and am holding out for the (hopefully) soon to be released complete NZ Nokia Maps before i play with GPS too much.

Battery life has improved somewhat, how much i'm not sure as i use the music player and radio functions quite often but erraticly. Definately is lasting longer though.

Is there anything else i should be exploring? the new firmware has ver much re-vitalised my interest in my phone both as a toy AND a tool.

**edit: after skimming the 19 or so pages about this on symbian freak i've picked up on a LOT of functions that were already on the phone that i was unaware of, and my perception of GeoTagging has changed too... will try it out next time i leave the building!**

Glad to see that you've sorted out an apparent misunderstanding of geotagging - its a great feature!

Used in concert with the sports tracker its a very expressive way of telling a story to friends who may follow your travels and so forth.

For anyone reading this for whom this is a consideration: the hack for the N82 is still operational under this firmware.

If you're thinking of getting a Black N82, be happy - it ships with this firmware.
