Is there any info out there about a Wi-Fi Curve coming to Vodafone?

I'm looking at shelling out a cool $900.00 for the 8310 Curve, the only downer is there is no Wi-Fi, I am so used to it with having a N-95, I would stick with the N-95 but I miss a QWERTY.

I had a curve for a while. As a Blackberry - ie, Email device it was great. For browsing it sucked. For IM it was okay, but its not 3G and you can definitely tell once you start getting into bandwidth intenstive applications. I've not heard of a wifi version coming out, and to be honest if there was one I wouldn't see much benefit in it for that form factor device. one thing is for sure - it is totally not worth $900, I wouldn't even pay $500 for it. If you're willing to pay $900 to have email pushed to your pocket then more power to you!

Blackberrys are cool but it is not really the gadget for me. I would love this. Having push email is great but as above post, it's not 3G it sucks for browsing etc. Not to say the least, BIS is over priced, where I can get a mobile broadband of 200MB for similar price.

Speaking from experience, comparing the normal data plans to blackberry data plans is like comparing apples to oranges...

The reason why I say this is that the blackberry does a lot behind the scenes to optimise data usage so that you don't needlessly use data. You'll find that vodafones highest blackberry plan is quite overkill unless you are an extremely heavy user.

That's because you are usinga Telecom Blackberry, and Blackberry roaming on Telecom is cheaper than Vodafone...

Telecom BlackBerry data roaming pricing is divided in zones. China is $20 per megabyte, Australia is $8 per megabyte.

Vodafone charges $30 per megabyte regardless of location outside New Zealand.

I mean why pay Vodafone's prices? Only people I can see needing the reassurance of purchasing from Vodafone are people ill at ease with technology, which lets face it, shouldn't apply to many here....

Its Garmin Mobile XT - great piece of software and well worth the money (it comes on a 2GB microSD card to soften the blow a little). I've mentioned it a few times here since I've never gotten around to finishing the article!
