Hmm, been trying to get various videos encoded onto my N95 and have a few questions:

1. Why when I copy a video I took on my phone and then use Nokia Video Manager to send it back to the phone does Nokia video manager say "converting?" - why is it converting a video taken by the phone?????

2. I have tried Xilisoft Video converter to make a mp4 - H264 file so I can play it on the phone from a avi. I have tried various resolutions, but none of them play on the phone. Isnt mp4/h264 meant to be a supported format?

I even tried Super converter too - some problem.

Anyone got any suggesitons????

I have tried Xilisoft mp4 converter (they make lots of converters, and the generic one although support mp4/h264 didnt work??) anyway the mp4 converter works a treat. iPod 60G preset seems to give the best file size vs quality.

Just encoding some stuff for those boring trips on public transport now!! :-)

I have found the divx player works great.

Although you have to sign up here

http://mobile.divx.com/login

to get the sisx file. I have found most videos play fine of my 8gig sd card, however there are some frame rate issues if the resolution gets too high.
