totally love this phone. First phone I have owned that does everything I want it to do and some.
I bought this phone from dse powerhouse manukau last week.
I have added music vids, music and personalized it to my way.
But I can not seem to get the city maps for auckland or even nz.
I have emailed nokia who kindly sent a 123 step in how to get them but all that
did was charge up my vodafone bill by $16 downloading map updates that did not include nz
when I go into the guides section I do not find NZ.
what am I doing wrong so far this phone is a  delight to use but I want to be able to use the gps also

There are many threads about NZ mapping on Geekzone right here in the Symbian Smartphones forum.  Have a look, heaps of useful information, from how to get the latest maps to how to enabling the built-in GPS.

Do all this on you PC!!

Install Nokia PC Suite

Goto the Nokia Maps Download page
http://europe.nokia.com/A4984199

Download Version 2.0 for the N95

Download the Nokia Maps Loader
(On the same page as above but further down)

Install the Map Loader on your PC.

Connect you phone to the PC

Select PC Suite Mode on your Phone

Open PC Suite

Select Nokia Software installer within PC Suite

Install Nokia Maps 2.0

Once Maps 2.0 is installed on your phone disconnect the phone and cable from your PC

Close PC Suite.

Start Nokia Maps 2.0 on the phone, it doesn't need to find any satellites, just start it then close it.

Once again connect you phone to your PC, but this time when asked select Data Transfer Mode.

Start Nokia Map Loader.

You should be then be able to choose the maps you want. Make sure the NZ version of the maps is 12.5MB in size as this includes the full NZ mapping.

Feel free to come back and ask any questions.

Thank you for your help.
I have read and followed the instructions and still no city guides for nz.
I have reread all the map stuff on here and nokia site.
But now I am totally confused and worrying about doing anything else incase i
really do something I can not fix.

thanks again but I will just not use the maps.

No, there is no city guide, but that is a different thing to Voice Guidance - is that what you're after?

when i bought the N95 from dse manukau and it had included in the box.
download any city guide to your phone. I assumed as it was bought in nz
and was a vodafone nz phone I could get the auckland city guides. It did say
on the voucher a guide to any city.
now it seems i can only get city guides to aussie or usa or anyway overseas.
kinda like false advertising ?

A little bit on the nose, I guess they meant "a free city guide to any city we currently have guides for". Poorly done by them - might be worth a complaint?
