Is the JVM integrated into PIE? Have you tried accessing these websites with Access Netfront instead? If you have a URL I can try here...

Some applets work, check the screenshot:

Java on Access Netfront Pocket PC

For some when I tap in one of the options (Travelling Show Case Demo, third icon) I get "Applet: ERR: java.io.Exception: Ception:" on Access Netfront, but it works on my desktop...

I'm using it on my iPAQ h4150 and i-mate Pocket PC Phone Edition.

This is the link to our Geekzone Software Store, if you want to try it: Access Netfront for Pocket PC.

Of course the site needs to be redesigned to fit the small screens - the layout with frames has some usability issues...

The Netfront trial doesn't have the JVM. Also, after installing the full Netfront you have to open the options and check the Helper list. The JVM is disabled by default.

Dogga - please send me an email on how you ended up with your problem. As it happens, I just installed the Carrier CCNWeb on my plant's automation system.

Now that it is "live" on the web, I want to be able to connect from a handheld device. I have not yet decided what I will purchase for the connectivity, but one of the HP units seems likely. The key to what I end up buying is that I can connect, and navigate, my own CCN website.

Since you have been already been playing around with it, I thought you may be able to give me some pointers and advice.....

thanks, bob

Hi Bob,

I was running the netfront demo version which has now run out of it's 45 day trial, but when it was running I could access things Ok thru the CCNWeb. I would recommend buying the Netfront software to help in fixing your problem. I have not purchased it as yet but will get around to it sooner or later..

So Netfront did the trick for you? Great!!

As I said in my post, I recently installed the CCNWeb in our system and it works great. But now the next great leap is to access it when away from the office - especially the 2nd and 3rd shift Maintenance Tech's.

We are willing to go out and buy several PDA's to give them to carry around. In most places in our buildings, they can access our LAN over WiFi. For myself, I am considering a PDA with wireless so I can access the CCN no matter where I am.

We had IT bring out one of "existing" PDA's and set it up for the WiFi - he could hit the logon screen but could not navigate to enter in user name/password - Java problem. Same probelm with my boss's cell phone - can't do the Java.

Please send me any info you can on accessing CCNWeb - I think you said you were using an iPAQ 2210? Do you know what other makes/models of PDA's may work? Any info on cell phone access would be appreciated also.

Thanks again - Bob
