Can anyone offer an opinion as to which of these two handsets is better? The 6500S has autofocus, duel LED flash and TV out which are all lacking on the 5610, yet the 5610 is only slightly cheaper which makes me wonder if there's something that I'm missing.

Does the dedicated audio chip in the 5610 give it much of an advantage on audio quality?

Very little to separate these handsets, I don't think you're missing anything.

I'd go for the 6500 Slide, that things build quality is amazing.

Here are the differences

6500s

Carl Zeiss Lense (This actually does have an impact on the images, the colours and sharpness and overall quality of the image are quite a bit nicer)

TV Out (Included in box)

Aluminum Housing

5610

Dedicated music chip (again a HUGE plus when listening to music)

8GB Micro SD. For some reason the card runs fine in the 5610 but not the 6500s

The slider feels a lot nicer on the 5610, more fluid. But that could be a batch thing between models.

Music key on the front is very handy!

Both cameras are autofocus with dual LED flash.

Thanks for the feedback, guys. The dedicated audio chip in the 5610 is definitely appealing, but according a review I read this afternoon the audio quality on the 6500s is still really good.

I think based on current pricing the 6500s appeals to me more out of the two.

6500 is the way to go.  The dedicated audio chip in the 5610 really doesn't make much difference - well, humanly detectable difference.
