Hi Guys
Ive noticed a file called host.exe in my E drive (ie mini sd) of N95. whats this file ? is this some system file ?
i searched google and seems host.exe is some adaware but i dont have any problems either in my pc or N95 .all work smoothly.
if its not system files is it safe to delete ?

am running all latest anti virus,firewall on my pc and dont put anything into N95 without scanning first.

Have you used this card on your PC as storage? Perhaps some trojan on your PC planted it? Have you ran a full AV scan lately?

While not specific to Symbian, there are reports of "host.exe" being an infected file being transferred through other devices.

If not, then just delete the file.

Thanks for that Mauricio. i did a full scan of my sd card and antivirus found this as virus and deleted it. it also found other files microsoftpowerpoint.exe and copy.exe and both deleted. all seem to be fine so far. you are right looks like these viruses spread thru USB drives.

interestingly i did full scan of my pc but this files were not there anywhere !!!
anyway all good now.
