Hi Folks,

Just got me a titan. Done lots of reading about how there isn't a upgrade (at the moment and probably unlikely) from Telecom available so it can go from the stock radio rom to the current one which is 3.xx and wm5 to wm6/6.1.

In a nutshell i've read on both geekzone and other forums, this is what needs to be done:

1. Phone needs to be unlocked

2. radio rom needs to be upgraded to rom 3.xx (to enable gps and rev-a)

3. rom upgraded to one of the various flavors of cooked roms available.

What i would like to do is upgrade the radio rom to enable the gps and rev-a for the meantime and continue on wm5.

is this possible or does the existing rom have to be upgraded also at the same time after the radio rom has been updated?

i've been trying to locate an executable rom for the telecom network that will upgrade both the radio and the os to wm6/6.1 at the same time but among the hundreds of threads/forums/posts really cant see one.

i had an apache which was quite easy to do but the titan upgrade makes me a bit more uncomfy lol i was trying to find a forum that was specific just to the titan and telecom nz so i could really understand the kiwi's experience.

or... is there anyone in hamilton who could do this for me? can fix you up with a kfc party pack on next pay day? Laughing

any help appreciated

cheers!

P.S As most people have been saying, if telecom got their act together we wouldn't have to be doing this

hmm to start with you are looking at the wrong forum. You have been looking at the right places however, and should post accordingly at those forums, nothing can really go wrong if you read carefully and follow instructions. I do not believe Telecom will be releasing a wm6 upgrade or wm6.1 for that matter.

You needed to get your HDR username and password from the EPST file before you flashed.  With out this you will be unable to be do a data session. ... well, there is a way to get 1X data working without the HDR info.

I have upgraded 6+ titans in the last 3 months and all work fine.

Here is what I do

enter EPST file and get the HDR username and password
Unlock the Titan
Load on new Sprint rom
Do not let the custom settings load, soff reset the titan at first boot before the sprit custom settings load.
Enter EPST file and load on HDR user name and password
Restart device

And you are away.

You might need to flash back to WM5 and re NAM your phone, get all the HDR info and then update again...

If you are in Auckland I am happy to help.
