I recently purchased an HP iPaq 1945 (closeout at Sam's Club - $100!). I'm not certain as to what read/write "speed" SD card to purchase. There are "standard" & "high speed" SD cards. I will be using the 1945 for labor intensive uses - watching movies, viewing 2-3 MB photos, etc. and am wondering if a high speed SD card will perform better or is it the actual processor (266 MHz) that will determine how "fast" the unit will perform. I do realize that the size of the movie files can have something to do with performance. I'm hoping that 1945 and/or SD card will be able to keep up with fast action movies and not take much time to view large MB photos. Any help would be appreciated.

While the faster card would help, a faster CPU would be in order too. Check our Pocket PC performance center for our latest reviews. According to the SPB Benchmark homepage the performance index for the h1945 is 1335, which is a good number actually.

I have used my 1940 (same as 1945) for a year and a half and have always thought the processor performance was excellent, which is also what the benchmark shows. It is important to buy a good quality SD card, as the benchmarks on these vary considerably.
