just upgraded the software to v30
now the camera isnt work. it just flick to the main screen everytime we try it
is it a hardware fault?
does the shutter need to be open for the camera to work?

Hardware fault. Was it working before the upgrade? if yes then I would not say a hardware fault

yes it was. more likely its hardware.
what happens if the shutter is closed? maybe theres a switch for the camera shutter?
