Most may be aware of this but for those of you who aren't thus follows some handy tips for anyone wanting to use GPRS on their 4150 through their V600.
i fannied around for ages and trawled through the internet, although people with Nokia's had posted the dial up code, no one appeared to have tried with a Motorola on Orange.
In the end i phoned Orange (156 - data services) and they knew exactly what i was jabbering on about!
thus follows their advice....
1) make sure your mobile and 4150 are paired. i managed to do this pratting about, for those of you who prefer a more methodical approached, read your 4150 manual.
2) click on start, settings, connections, then connections again. you should now see a screen saying 'bluetooth settings'.
3) click on 'add a new modem connection'.
4) enter 'orange gprs' in the name for connection field.
5) select 'bluetooth dialup modem' from the drop down menu.
6) click next.
7) enter this in the number field... *99#
8) click next
9) leave the user name and password fields empty.
10) click on advanced and change your baud rate to 57600 and de-select 'wait for dial tone'.
11) 'in extra dial-string modem commands' enter the following... +cgdcont=1,"IP","orangeinternet"
12) then click finish.
that should be it. job done.
and it works!
Orange were actually really helpful and even phoned me back on a different mobile on a different network to talk me through setting the above up.... mind you, my bill is over £100 a month......
This might help someone out there!
