Hey Everyone

Resently, I downloaded PODZ for the X-Scale cpu for the PocketPC and I encountered a problem. It said it couldnt find Net Framework and I had to uninstall it.

My question is this, I have 3-4 Pocket PC's, 1 for each of my family members, Now I bought a Viewsonic V35 and come to find out it had Windows 2002 on it, Is this my problem ?

I tried to install the Net Framework Compact on it that I d/l from MS and everything seems fine but I still cant get PODZ to install correctly, Do I have to upgrade the OS to MS 2003 ?

If so, I had bought the cd from Viewsonic web site and waiting for it But for the sake of everyone, Is Net Framework Compact a required componet and at what version does it come pre-installed.

Thanks in advance

You should contact the developers. The .Net CF is part of the ROM on Windows Mobile 2003, and it can be installed on RAM on Pocket PC OS 2002. The program should run just fine with this installation on your Pocket PC.

Thanks for replying.

So Am guessing here but the d/l I got from MS would work on MS Win2002 for the pocketpc and its later incorpreated in MS Win 2003 .

Now when you mean installing it in RAM, did u mean installing it like a program or does it merge within the OS ?

Thanks again.

Installing in RAM means that .Net Compact Framework will use the memory on your Pocket PC that would be otherwise available for other programs. With Windows Mobile 2003 the functionality is built-in ROM, so it will not use any memory.

Installation on Pocket PC OS 2002 is like any other program - make sure the Pocket PC is in the cradle and ActiveSync active, execute the installer and it will copy the files and configure on your Pocket PC.

Thank You again.

I dont really get into the workings of how OS's do there thing, Just like everyone else, When we have a problem, We usually turn to the GEEKS to help solve our woes and sighs !

Is there an article or How-To's regarding this and others, it sure would make things simpler finding the answers and not bother the GEEKS for our wisdom.

:)

No problem... Some of this stuff is around the internet. Posting on forums like this helps other users to find answers later. So don't worry about asking...
