Ladies and Gentlemen step right up to the latest show on earth....
All those people who bought this phone for its original features are in for a little surprise.
The nice people at Nokia have provided this very hard to find SDK tool at:
http://www.nokia.com.tw/nokia_apac/taiwan/images/NokiaMultimediaConverterProv2.0_b9.zip
Running on Win (98,ME,2000,XP,NT4) with this little beauty you will be able to convert all your favourite MP3's to the much more compact AMR format (playable on the preloaded Recorder player) in a single keystroke. Over 1 hour of Paul Oakenfold only takes 6Mb!
This is partially due to the Nokia 3650's limitation as a mono player but plays same quality as on the US$45 MP3Go software you can download to play fully fledged MP3s on your phone.
More interestingly, you can use the same program to convert your movies (AVI format) to the streaming QCIF format. This means once you have converted XMen or Matrix from DVD to AVI you can have the entire movie packed into 48MB. With 64Mb & 128Mb MMC cards already available at DSE and eXpansys websites you have no reason to EVER be bored at those office lectures again! Can't be bothered doing the conversions? An online search will find you sites that supply your choice to order. There are already on demand video streaming sites in the UK for those rich enough to pay the GPRS fees.
For those of you keen on 3D games, how about the Trialware 9-levels of DOOM (just like the original PC version) which takes up the whole of 6Mb! Or how about mucking around at presentations with the handy little IrDA remote control master software that lets you tap into just about any TV, video appliance, etc.
Power to the people!
