Wow, my 5800 hasn't even arrived yet and I've seen my next phone. Check symbian-freak/symbian-guru/allaboutsymbian for the news.

3.5inch 640x360 16:9 16million colour touchscreen
Full sliding hardware QWERTY - tilts up on opening for easy reading
32GB of internal storage + card slot for a total of 48GB storage (64GB possible when Sandisk release 32GB microSDHC cards!)
5mp dual-led carl zeiss optics camera with lens cover, video capture at VGA 640x480 30fps
1500mA battery
Customisable homescreen (new for symbian, this degree of customisation anyways)
Decent physical dimensions 117.2 x 55.3 x 15.9 mm (18.25 mm at camera area), and weighs approximately 150g

I have been holding of my next cellphone purchase till Telecom had built their new network...this could be perfectly timed...

I will likely buy this mobile ($1500?)

A customizable Home screen

I have just been watching the promo vids found on YouTube, Nokia and Nokia Conversations....very nice!

I was just thinking to myself the other day, while the Nokia 5800 is very nice, I really liked the Widgets available with the likes off the Samsung i900 Omnia or the LG KC910 Renoir...but I now see this mobile has all the above and more...love it!

Its slated for $550 euros before taxes and subsidies, so I think $1500 or a little cheaper will be ball park around first release.

Won't work on Telecom - it's a UMTS 900/2100 device.

Most new Nokia's are all UMTS 900/2100 with Nokia creating UMTS 850/2100 models of some handsets.

Crickey - nice looking device. 900/2100 ... excellant. Widgets, awesome!

Not sure of the fold up screen though, looks a bit like the HTC TYTN II and that phone just annoyed me.

Won't work on Telecom - it's a UMTS 900/2100 device.

This is good enough of a phone to keep me with Vodafone if that is the case...but I am waiting to see what mobiles and plans Telecom rolls out before making a decision (considering all my freinds and rellies are with Telecom, my Vodafone savings are limited)

But that said, Telecom's new network must have video calling, and with compariable or better plans to that of Vodafone, or I won't touch them.

Telecom's network will have video calling.

Telecom are rolling out UMTS/HSDPA @ 850 & 2100 they are not deploying GSM.

One of these phones would give you some Telecom coverage in the major metropolitan areas that have 2100MHz coverage but the bulk of Telecom's network will be 850 so you will only have patchy coverage.

Yeah I read that...what a croc!

They always compare to the iPhone, like its so wonderfull...and while I agree it is a beautifull phone, very easy to use, it lacks so many features...the N97 just blows it away (feature wise)

I fail to see what the big deal about the iPhone is. Yes, it looks nice, the screen is good and the OS operates smoothly.

But beyond that, its.... Boring. I've explored the device a couple of times and got bored with it. Its not very configurable, all the programs lack flexible options.

But anyway, on topic:

The new phone looks quite nice. I just hope that it won't be sluggish. I feel like I'm loosing faith in Symbian. Maybe they need more efficient coding to make it compare with the iPhone's smooth operation, one thing I have to give Apple credit for.
