If it's not a WMV file then you should look at using Core Media Player.

Hey mate, you may or may not have tried the TCPMP player. It's fantastic and will play pretty much any file type you could think of ... by far my preferred video playback device for my Touch.

If you're going to ask about something like this its advisable not to say you downloaded it (illegally?), you can leave that part out.

Download the free video converter Super

Easy to find via google :)

After install, drag and drop the file you want to convert into Super.

For the output select the template "Pocket PC (avi)"

Hit encode. You might  want to try several encodes by playing with the bitrate, lowering the bitrate will help to make the playback better though the quality will deteriorate. As suggested use TCPMP, which is what i use as well.

Good Luck!

Cheers

hmmm I know its off topic but...

surely downloading a TV show is the same as borrowing the VHS or DVD recorder version from a friend???? Cant really see how recording broadcast TV and giving it to someone else with no monatary gain is illegal.

I realise thats not how the content goons see it, but thats how I look at it.
