I have an e800 running Mobile 2003SE

I have the toshiba serial client cable

I was hoping to attach to my serial gps (garmin 17N)

But am unable top see any data on serial ports 1-3 (4-8 give selection error)

The gps works ok to other machines and I've tried a null modem on the cable

I've turned off active sync and recieve incoming beam

How does the Toshiba handle serial comms? Is there some driver I am missing? As which port would the cable appear?

I thought this was going to be simple (sigh)

advTHANKXance

I was able to successfully connect my Garmin eTrex Legend to my e800. I bought a USB to serial adapter, downloaded a generic driver from it from Pharos, and installed it with the enclosed instructions. Once it was installed, I followed the instructions and set the e800 port to com4. It does fine now. I did not need any null adapters in this configuration.
