I've been using my T3 for about 6 months now and have had no problems untiil recently. I synch to AvantGo, Vindigo, and Epocrates. In the last month or so, I started getting Bad_Mem Pointer messages when those conduits would start up. I could click OK and continue on usually, but then every time I was having large (60MB) files called HOTSYNCH.dmp created in my c:\windows
\internet log folder (which is normally a folder for Zone Alarm items). They sync would actually work, but every time these dump files were created. I just happened to notice them when I saw my C: drive space dwindling and went looking for the reason. After syncing, I can go and delete them and remove them from recyle bin - no harm done. But I don't want to have to do that after every sync..
I've deleted all the conduits and the device syncs fine with no hotsynch.dmp files being placed into the aforementioned folder. But each time I reinstall AvantGo or Vindigo or Epocrates, it happens again. I've written to Palm, AvantGo, Vindigo, etc , with nobody having a clue. The only thing suggested is that I uninstall the Palm software completely and reinstall and then replace my data and programs. I have BackupBuddy2, so I wouldn't think that would be too difficult.
However, I'm still curious as to what might be causing this and am wondering if it will continue to happen after the reinstall of the software and the restore from BackUpBuddy.
Thought there might be a true Geek out there who knows what these .dmp files are , why they are created (something crashing?), and what Bad_Mem Pointers are all about. Any help is appreciated.
Thanks,
Mark
