Ok... I have a Nokia 6680 and have forgotten my lock code!!! Dumb me, I know!
anyway... i read a post on another forum stating that if I hold Call, 3 and * whilst powering on it will reset my phone to factory setting... NO, what i found is I can no longer read my phones prompts!! (it has changed its language to Japanese or Chinese).

Is there a way to reset it WHILE locked??
if not well... i guess i can only take it to vodafone... not sure if they can do it but PLEASE if anyone has ANY possible way please tell me...

Here is the phone... prompting for a pass code:

The screen:

The number it is asking for is probably the PIN for you SIM card. This can be reset by getting it wrong 3 (or maybe 5) times, thus PUKing it. You then get your PUK code from Vodafone to un PUK your SIM.

Chinese - was this a parallel imported phone? If you did the full factory reset, then this could be the default language.

no its not the PIN im asking for, this is the actual phones lock system... i finally got it back to english by puting my SIM CARD back in,as it was containing english settings, the language is now back to english... i dont know the history of this phone as i bought it off a friend.

I am wondering if, when i reset it, the lock code was actually removed or not... because it did have 2 new txt messages and it would normally tell me this... it no longer does... is this because the phone was reset BUT the lock code was NOT removed, or another problem??

The full reset (* + 3 + Green), should have killed the phone lock. The other possibility is it is locked to a provider. The standard lock code on Nokia phones is 12345

Try downloading NSS http://www.b-phreaks.co.uk/index.php?main_page=page_2 and use this to "read" the phone. I think it will display the lock code.

I do wonder if the phone is actually SIM locked though.

You will need to get the phone unlocked by Nokia Care Centre. There will be a charge.

You could try Google to see if anyone else has had the issue and how they worked around it, but I'm afraid the options are few and far between.
