Hi folks,
I finally got my hands on NZ-new Vodafone E71 from a different source after a messy dealing with Expert Infotech.
The first thing I tried to do was set up Google Sync with my phone. Unfortunately their instructions for the E-series S60 3rd Edition phones did not match my phone. It appeared their instructions for S60 2nd edition is the one for my supposed 3rd-edition E-series phone!
What's everyone's firmware? I checked my version using the *#0000# code and got:
100.07.7608-06-2008RM-346(C)Nokia E71-1(255.01)

displayed on my screen. I'm guessing my firmware is version 100.07.76 but no idea if this is 2nd or 3rd edition? Can I upgrade my firmware?
Cheers,
Dany.

I thought as much - I assume the Nokia Software Updater app will do the upgrade for me? Did you have to upgrade yours John? Or did it come with that firmware?

Mine is running the same however I had real trouble after upgrading as my backup wouldn't take - I had to reload all my contacts and appointments back on using ActiveSync.

That's all I use anyway for syncing my contacts.

Just out of curiosity, what's your phone's product code? Has it been changed from its original product code to obtain the v200 firmware?

Mine is 0560657 which is an Australian purchased E71 that has the generic Australian Product Code.

I'd love to give a different product code a try but apparently it voids the warranty. Ah well...perhaps after the year is over...

Don't bother.

SW Version 210.21.006 has been approved by VFNZ and should be on NSU shortly.
