Hey all

I have the okta touch and lately I have been finding it a bit annoying, it keeps changing the time, and when I woke up this morning I looked at my phone and thought 'hmm it's only 9am' only to find out it was 10 o clock! Luckily I don't have anything on today, but is there anything I can do so I can keep the time from changing?

It sounds like a Daylight Savings issue. If you synch with a PC, is that date/time OK? You may have to apply a DST patch to the Okta. Are you on WM6.0 or the new 6.1 ROM?

Or you could wait another 2 weeks when we revert ro NZST :-)

Hey

It came preloaded with 6.1, and it's only when I wake up when it is changed, it has happened before like 3-4 times but I just thought maybe someone on here would be able to solve the problem

The date is all correct, just not the time.

Another thought is the "Time Synchronisation" setting in Phone / Menu/ Options / Services. I am not sure how this works, or whether it is network or cell dependent but maybe that is what is updating your time during the night?
Mine is set to synchronise automatically (I just tried a manual update and nothing appeared to change though). There is also a setting to update the PDA clock when connecting using Active Sync. Do you use Active Sync? If you don't then that will eliminate the host PC from the equation.
Has this always happened, or is this a new problem that only started after March 7 (which would have been our old DST changeover date)?

Make sure you have the right Time Zone settings.

Auckland GMT+12.

(If I remember correctly)

As pointed before have you applied the correct timezone patches?

If you've recently applied the new Telecom ROM upgrade to Windows Mobile 6.1 then you will need to apply the Microsoft daylight savings patch - bizarre that this wasn't included in the ROM!!

I'm guessing if you've got an OKTA from Telecom that already has this preinstalled then they will have most probably used the same ROM as the one they've made available for download and will still need the daylight savings patch
