Should these maps come with the phone? Or do I have to buy them?

The reason I ask is my boss has a NZ new Vodafone (bought directly from them), he already seems to have the maps. My parallel imported phone doesn't seem to have any of this.

Do these phones generally come with the map data as well?

oh, and another thing. Got it up and running.

Are the maps really basic for NZ? i.e no street names for a lot of the non main roads?

if not already installed on your phone (usually default) you can choose your phone and download from http://europe.nokia.com/explore-services/maps/download
you will also need the latest version of pc suite and nokia map loader found on the same page...
or try http://betalabs.nokia.com/betas/view/nokia-maps-30-ovi-maps which has maps ver 3(beta)

the maps themselves are free, only voice nav is the part that costs...
the detail of the maps definitely includes street listings (plus parks, gas stations, trains, etc etc etc...)
