I can't get my Touch to uptake the DST changes?

Background:
I downloaded all the necessary patches etc. last year and resolved the DST changes for the start of Daylight savings, thought all the problems would go away.

I upgraded to the latest software (Win Mob 6.1) last month, all good.  Only to find Telecom had not included the DST patch in the upgrade, and my Touch changed for Daylight savings in March.

I loaded the DST patch again, and, again, thought all was well.

My touch did not update on Sunday 5th April as expected.  Now apointments for the week are out by an hour, the touch still thinks it's 1 hour ahead.  All attempts to reload the patch either fail, or appear to work, but the time does not update, nor do the calender appointments?

I'm lost, I have run two different .cab (WM6DST2007-2.cab and WMDST2008-1.CAB) files on the Touch, and a desktop tool, KB949168.

Can anyone help, please?

Thats wierd. My WMDST2008-1.cab update worked fine. You could try turning the time synch with the network off then reinstalling the cab. then reenable time synch. in theory should prob make no difference but it worked when i first upgraded my rom. Hope this helps

You probably have, but have you visited this link:

http://mobile.microsoft.com/en-us/windowsmobile/updates/dst.aspx

on your mobile device, and installed the CAB file from there? that tends to be the latest version, and it sorted out the DST issues a client was having on his Touch.

sometime u wont' be able to see whether it has actually change it or not... (like my one, i am surprise that it did inform you that the time has changed!!!)

the only thing is whether it has been change is comparison with nz against a oversea's time, like NZ vs Hong Kong should be 4 hours different now...

have u actually download from this website
http://mobile.microsoft.com/windowsmobile/en-us/updates/dstdownload.mspx?wt.dl=1&sid=8bf8f5d394c751c9f1dcc8e18353858a08cadcc9

where it list all all Windows mobile 6, 5 and 2003 version too?

Hope that helps
Jacky

Ubiquie - Have had same problem after ROM upgrade earlier this year.  Managed to get time reading OK then (can't remember exactly how but I know it took several attempts!) but again had same problem after switch back to NZST on Sunday, where my mobile didn't automatically adjust and was an hour ahead.

Tried mjb's solution but didn't work for me.  Finally downlaoded afresh the setup.msi file from here:

http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?displaylang=en&FamilyID=3bd7c55c-8ac1-4821-81fe-3f4ada831fe0

and ran it from the PC (with Touch connected of course).  Clicked "yes" to have it remove the previous installation from the PC (I still had it from when I needed to update after the new ROM install).  Then ran it again to reinstall it on Touch.  Again, it reminded me that the previous installation on the Touch would be removed before reinstallation (click "yes").  After this reinstallation I am now up and running on NZST again!!

Much more complicated than it needs to be from my perspective - not entirely sure why the problem has arisen for some of us but has been fixed for me now at least!!  Good luck.  Happy to elaborate if the above process isn't clear!

Many thanks to all.  It's sorted now, albeit, I'm not sure which fix, fixed it.

Following Jacky and Edge's post, I remembered a kludge.  Following an update, I had previously had to change the home timezone to another timezone, then change it back again.  This worked, now just have to get hold of my wife's Touch and fix that two.

Cheers

I had exactly the same problem when I installed the new 6.1 Rom from Telecom onn my Okta Touch /Vogue.
The 2007 DST patch is included in the new build and I also loaded the 2008 DST patch and found it was an hour out.
I tried to uninstall the 2008 DST but the OS would not allow that.
Network Sync did not work and if yoy changed the time manually it reverted back to an hour out.
The resolution I found was to change the time zone example to Brisbane soft reset then change back to New Zealand and this resolved the issue.

Hope this helps...

This step is clearly noted in the readme file - did you guys read the instructions before installing the patch?
