Right - this is something that didn't even occur to me when I bought the E71! I had to dial 0800 PARKING this morning but realised my keyboard doesn't have the traditional keypad markings!

Does anyone know if there's a trick to dialing word numbers on these keyboards?

Common issue with all touchscreen phones and new QWERTY keyboards.

You really just have to remember what the keys are. IMHO any company that advertises word numbers without the actual digits next to it are just plain stupid anyway.

D'oh! That's a bit of a pain. Yes, it's stupid not to include the numbers but it does happen. All the Wilsons car park signs around here only have the word PARKING - not numbers.

I'd only 1/2 agree with you there: a word number is designed to be remembered as a word, therefore... later you need to dial the word number, but are not in front of where you first saw the number - so same problem; how to dial the word number on a qwerty

Maybe there is a S60 app - word dial

Easy, cut and paste..
The Nokia E71 however can take the guess work out of these number.

By using the SHIFT key and the QWERTY keyboard you can dial the number as you see it and the E71 will do all of the translation work for you.

1. Dial 1800 as normal
2. Then hit the Function key (bottom left) to change the input method to text.
3. Finally press and hold SHIFT to key in the word and hit DIAL.

Remember, the word MUST be in CAPS in order for this to work, hence the holding of the shift key.
