Greetings all,

Would anybody know where you can get a replacement battery cover for the N95? (other than the obvious vodafone store)

I've had mine for a year and 2 months (give or take a month) and recently the (mind bogglingly) flimsy battery cover has decided to lose it's teeth (for the want of a better description!).

This is really annoying as I've always kept my phone in a neoprene camera case and have been very mindful of it when the phone + case have been in my pocket e.g. like getting in and out of the car.

I love the N95 for its features and the firmware updates + PC software etc, so it's dishartening to have one tiny piece(s) break.

Any suggestions? (Thank you for any assistance)

Laurence.

P.s. Build quality will be my main criteria on deciding wheter or not to get an N97.

I just ordered a couple from nokia care as mine had broken as well. You can contact them on 0800665421 and they'll post it out but you'll need a credit card.

Nokia certainly. I wonder if they would also sell the enture back casing module? I'd love a sand colour.

Any from Trademe will almost certainly be fake (isn't almost everything on that site) and eBay would be probably not be much better.

Still good to know, a reputable place to get commonly broken items.

The N95 backplate is user-replaceable and so is the keypad but it is not something easy for everyone to remove, I might try ordering it anyhow and see how I go. I'd like a spare back cover as I wany to glue a windsheild mount on to it.

I got a spare one as well just in case. I had it for the about same length of time as unrealwarcheek before I realised the cover was broken.

Hey thanks for the suggestions guys.

I can't believe the cover broke! heck I even trim my thumb nail very short so I won't scratch the number pad!

I'll look into contacting Nokia Care. I'll avoid Vodafone as I'm sure they'd have a hefty mark up on a 10 cent piece of injection moulded plastic! (well perhaps they haven't but)

Cheers,

Laurence.

Yeah I checked mine to the original...couldnt tell any difference. 6-7 months on the NOKIA brand on the back has shown less fading that the original so go figure :P Guess if it is a fake its better made than the original, but when it comes down to it, its a peice of plastic....
