Hello...

I ordered and received my Bluetooth usb dongle a few days ago. Afterwards, i d/led the Nokia PC Suite and for some reason, it keeps saying either 'Connection Is Lost' or 'Connection Failed'. Meanwhile, I have been able to install software to my phone (with a 'Connection Is Lost' message popping up soon after installation).

I can't figure out how to sync my phone. Am I supposed to have software installed to the phone for this?

Candygogo, I'll prepare a Bluetooth Guide for the Nokia 3650...

What you have to do is this:

After installing the Bluetooth and pairing the devices, install the Nokia PC Suite. Right-click the PC Suite icon in the System Tray and select the COM port corresponding to the Bluetooth Service COM Port (usually COM3, but depends on your configuration).

Then, from your desktop, open the Bluetooth Places, find the Nokia 3650 icon, right-click and select Connect to Serial. It'll open a connection and present the error message you referred to.

Immediately after this disconnection, the Nokia will try to callback your computer. Then connection will be on the COM port defined on the Bluetooth Services, and this is the port the software will be listening to. the connection will be established then.

It's strange, but it's how it works. I'm able to synchronise my contacts and calendar, backup the phone contents, install apps and transfer files using the software.

Let me know how it goes.

Hey...

Before I try all of those things, should I uninstall, and reinstall the software?

It's me again!

About the Nokia PC Suite...I don't see it in the system tray. The icon is on my desktop. The only things connected to the phone and bluetooth are: mRouter, Bluetooth Configuration and Connection Manager. Clicking on the desktop icon of the PC Suite gets me nowwhere, it just days 'This is your first time using this, please connect phone.' I click OK, and nothing happens, I have to cancel out to close the screen.

Like I said, I can install software, but syncing up, exchanging business cards and the like are a no go :(

What you'll see in the system tray is a gray icon that looks like two eletrical plugs.

I'll be back in New Zealand this weekend (I'm in Australia right now), and we'll post a Bluetooth Guide for the Nokia 3650... Just wait a couple days .

Ok, now I'm back... The icon I'm referring to is actually the mRouter icon (sorry!)

If you right click this icon you'll see the option to select which COM port the software should use. Select the SERVER COM port as defined in your Bluetooth configuration.

Then from your Bluetooth Places, find the Nokia 3650, right-click it and select Connect to Serial Port. It'll briefly connect and then show an error message. Just click ok, and see how the icon in the system tray changes to this .

Now start the Nokia PC Suite from the icon in your desktop and let us know how it goes!

Tomeyer, Are you running W2K or Windows XP? Remember that XP hides icons not used for a while. You can change this in the Task Bar settings on the Control Panel.

Or perhaps you should remove the Nokia PC Suite, reboot, and install again. Then reboot one more time and check the system tray.
