Hi,

I used to open image files (JPEG or BMP) and .PDF files that come attached on pocket outlook received messages (not embedded, just attached).

After removing some unwanted pre-installed programs on my HP hx47005, I lost the ability to view and even save to a file.

HP image software is still installed and I can open image files on memory cards or Rom as well as PDF files on ClearVue PDF.

Anyone knows which file(s) should be wrongly removed?

Should I make a hard reset and reinstall everything from the scratch?

If doing so, all the pre-installed software will be lost?

I would appreciate any help.

Thanks.

Strange... The best option is to make sure you have a copy of all files you need, and hard reset. The hard reset will restore the Pocket PC back to its original settings, including all built-in programs. Delete the current partnership on ActiveSync (make sure to keep the sync folder) and after changing the Pocket PC name to what you were using before, recreate the partnership.

Hi Mauricio,

Nothing like the good and old "hard reset" to make everything works again.

Of course, I had to reinstall the apps, restore data backups, and reconfigure all the connections settings...

At least, I took the opportunity to reinstall the programs using the ROM available memory which realesed more RAM for running apps.

Thanks.

Unless it is not planned... Yesterday I removed a SDIO device I'm testing on my Harrier Pocket PC Phone Edition, and it was frozen. I pressed the reset button and went downstairs. From there I could hear the "bling, bling" of a (not intentional) hard reset...

Sorry for that!

Anyway, look at that by its positive side:

You will spend some hours playing with a very nice toy...and could end your SDIO device review in a funny way. :))

Good Luck!

Thanks again.
