My mum has just recently just got a Windows Smartphone with Windows Mobile Standard 6.1

What she has noticed, and I noticed today was that when were on a phone call, when you recieve a text message at the same time, the message tone comes through the loud speaker - it's kind of hard to explain so im sorry if this doesnt seem to explain it all that well.

but yes, it basically makes you deaf for  few seconds and on top of that it also sends a sound througfh to the person you are on the call to.,

Is there a fix for this? usually, at least from my experience with Windows Mobile Professional 6.1 is that it should just make a beeping sound or something similar.

Any help would be very much appreciated, she's going crook.

hi there from what i've read on other forums, it sounds like a bug. but no-one answered the people expereriencing it.

Its a T-Mobile Dash, unlocked.

Shouldnt need to set a profile though? it should just disable the full tone while a phone call is active, and just have a beep or something, and then revert back to a the full tone when the call is finished.

My mum has trouble hearing her phone, thats why that option wouldnt really be viable... It was actually my first thought too.

Thanks for the reply

I am not sure (never used SPB Phone Suite) but it seems you can set sound levels and other stuff for during calls, meetings, etc.

As zocster says try it. If it works, use "geekzone" code in our software store for 15% discount.

Thanks for the replies.

Unfortunately, I cant seen to install this program on this phone. it says something about needing to install it on a Windows Mobile Edition phone. (in other words, it wont install on this one :S .. even though it is Windows Mobile)

There are Windows Mobile Professional (touchscreen, a.k.a Pocket PC) and Windows Mobile Standard (non touchscreen, a.k.a Smartphone). You have to download the correct version.

It's an excalibur smartphone you'd need to find one for a smart phone not a PDA

Yeah, it actually turned out to be much more beneficial anyways - The ROM i loaded was much faster, especially without the t-Mobile crap on it.
I might end up flashing 6.1 to it soon.
