I just got a HP iPAQ 2410 and I am configuring connectivity. I managed to pair my mobile phone and connect to internet. On the other hand, Wi-Fi is not working propoerly. When turn the Wi-Fi on, the Wi-Fi icon change colour from gray to amber - meaning at access point is detected. iPAQ finds the point name (3Com) and gives the staus as "Available". What the iPAQ does not manage to do is to connect to this access point. The accesspoint is 11 mpd 3Com Access Point 2000. For the sake for setup, I have removed the securit and the network is open. In the network information section inthe iPAQ, the network signal stregth is very strong, but the "link Status" is given as disconnected.

I have looked in the manual, but that does not give me any clues to how I can solve this. I was under the impression that this Windows Mobile 2003 Second Edition is suppose to be zero configuration...

By the way, I have another iPAQ (HP 5450), and thisiPAq picksup the Wi-Fi signal and connect to the net without any problems.

I am very much stuck at this point. Appriciate any clues from teh forum

Have you reset the Access Point? Power cycle it? Perhaps change channel? Is it using a "burst" mode?

There are "channels" that your Access Point uses, and in general you can change then to prevent interference from other Access Points. Check this on your configuration utility/control panel.

Some Access Points also offer a "burst" mode to increase speed. Check in the configuration again that if this AP has got one, then it must be disabled.
