There's two things I want to do with my iPAQ rx3715 but cannot:

- Use my bluetooth headset when running Skype on the iPAQ. The iPAQ and headset (Plantronics M3000) pair allright, but the iPAQ claims the headset doesn't provide any usefull services. Naturally, I dare to disagree, but the problem remains that the rx3715 doesn't support the headset profile. I found a registry hack for other iPAQ modes, by enabling services 0005 and 0006 under HKLM\Software\Widcomm\BtConfig\Services, but my registry only contains services 0001 to 0004. Has any-one found a resolution for this?

- Use Tomtom traffic with my bluetooth GPS receiver. Both Tomtom Navigator 3 with the bluetooth GPS receiver (Adapt) and connecting to the Internet through GPRS with my Nokia 6310i over a bluetooth connection work fine. However, both seem to use the (outbound) serial port profile on the rx3715 and there's only one such port. On my desktop, there's an option to add another bluetooth serial port, but I cannot find anything like that on the iPAQ. Has any-one found a resolution for this, or maybe a workaround?

It seems to me that these are limitations of the bluetooth stack on the rx3715 (Bluetooth for WindowsCE BT-PPC Version 1.5.0 Build 2600, by Broadcom), which is included in the firmware (1.01.11). Does any-one know of alternative bluetooth stack which I could use?

Thanks,
Erik.

There's no alternative Bluetooth stack. However you should be able to connect to GPRS and use TomTom at the same time. Have you used DUN to configure the connection to the mobile phone, like it is explained in this guide?

Hi Mauricio,

I had used DUN and created a working Internet connection over bluetooth/GPRS before. However, DUN cannot connect to my phone over bluetooth, after Tomtom has opened a bluetooth connection to the GPS receiver. I does popup several messages that it's going to dial *99#, but then complains that it cannot connect for an unknown reason. Disabling the bluetooth connection to the GPS receiver doesn't help; I need to disable and re-enble bluetooth on the iPAQ (and sometimes reset the iPAQ), before DUN will work again.

But the good news is, your message indicated that it should work, so I trial-and-errored some more, and ... I got Tomtom traffic to work.

The trick seems to be to first connect to the Internet using the bluetooth GPRS connection and after that start Tomtom. Tomtom automatically opens the bluetooth serial connection to the GPS receiver and leaves the DUN connection open.

Any clues on the headset issue?

Thanks,
Erik.
