WModem is program that should be located under 'Programs' on your device. Once it is run it gives the option for the type of connection you want to use with your laptop - Serial, IrDA, USB or Bluetooth.

USB or Bluetooth are the best.

Lynn, WMODEM is located on your Pocket PC - tap Start | Programs and you'll see an icon at the bottom. Follow the instructions on this article. The modem is defined on your computer.

The only reason for you to have just those icons you described is if someone actually delete the shortcuts on \Windows\Start Menu\Programs. Since you say you don't have ANY icon but those, then I can only think that you'd be better off by doing a hard reset on your Pocket PC, which will bring it to the state it was when it left the factory. You will then have to configure it again, and if nothing is wrong then all icons should be there.

You're wrong about wmodem. It is not included in the program files. There is no mistake made, it isn't included in the icons for Verizon's XV6600. You quote Harrier, the maker of the phone. You may not be aware of the configuration Verizon has. Please help us to better functionality, if you can. There is a modem connection setup on the settings/connections icon, but no help on configuration.

Ok, so the icon is not there... But what about the program? If you open File Explorer on your Pocket PC and browse to \Windows, then it should have two files there: wmodem.exe and the html help file.

If the files are there you could create the icon yourself?

I have the same Audiovox and read through this string with great anticipation :) It looks like Verizon has removed this program from the phone they shipped. I seached through every folder in the Windows directory and it's not there. Anyone know where we could download it?

How many times do you have to post? Anyway the problem seems not to be the drivers or how to, but the lack of the proper wmodem program on that Pocket PC.

Also the link you posted (twice) is not different in content to the one posted before. It does look like URL drop to me.

WMODEM is a program that will disable the ActiveSync connection when your device is plugged into a USB port, making it appear as a modem instead of a Pocket PC to your computer.
