I have a Blackberry 8330 Curve and since the last software update, my 3rd party applications will not work with the built in GPS.  Prior to the last update, I could use my external GPS with the 3rd party applications, but now I can pair with my external GPS, but I cannot connect to it.  My service provider is Verizon, and they stated they turned this off so we would be forced to buy their applications or subscribe to their GPS services.  Is there a work around for this?

Is yours an ESN or MEID device?

From the main menu, select Options, then select Status.
ESN devices - On the Status screen you will see ESN on the display
MEID devices ? On the Status screen you will see MEID on the display.
NOTE ? You cannot install ESN-based software on a MEID device, nor can you install MEID-based software on an ESN device. They are NOT interchangeable.
