Hi, I really dont know a lot about smart devices but I am wondering if anybody is familiar with the following handset:

http://www.engadget.com/entry/1234000977043001/

I would first of all like to know whether it is a CDMA or a GSM handset and whether anybody knows whether it will be released in NZ.

Second of all, I am just wondering if anybody can share their expertise: I would like to know if it is currently or will at some stage, be possible to run the program Rhino on a Pocket PC device??

The HTC Universal is a GSM/GPRS/UTMS (WCDMA) device, with Bluetooth and Wireless LAN (Wi-Fi). It will be available through O2, Vodafone Germany and possibly i-mate (meaning it will be here sometime by the end of the year).

On Vodafone Germany it's known as VPA IV, and it was announced a few months back.

The thing with Vodafone Germany is that apparently they were tired of waiting for the Vodafone group to decide on Windows Mobile devices, and they had to launch something to compete with T-Mobile Germany, hence their own series of branded VPA (Vodafone Personal Assistant) mobile devices.
