My battery pack accidentally came off on the pda 2k and by the time i realised its back-up battery had run out. consequently, all my data was lost. i did an active sync to restore it. sometime later i discovered the program "Permanent Save" on the device and in the process of exploring it, it has restored all the data i lost before my battery ran out. The result is that is has duplicated everything. Can anyone tell me how i can correct this?

Also, this must be the 5th time that my battery pack is coming off accidentally. I do not use a cover case because that makes the device too bulky for me to put in my pocket, but is there something to hold the battery from coming off?

It really depends on the number of entries you have. You can manually delete them by changing the view on Outlook to something that lists all entries and then remove the duplicates.

If you have too many entries to do this (I have around 800 contacts!) then you should search for "Outlook Duplicate Remover"... There are a few solutions for this, and a couple are free.

Google is your friend. Use the string I pointed in the previous post when searching (including the quotes).

Regarding the battery, is it coming out even with the latch locked in place?

yes it does, but i think this is probably as a result of my own handling of it. I once had an ipaq and the battery pack didn't come off that easily. This one does. Am just wondering whether there a lock or something to further secure it

Further on the subject of the duplicates, even if i find a duplicate remover would the problem be solved because, my "Permanent save" program now has those duplicates and if i do a restore that would be what would come out
