Can somebody give me some tips on what software to use for VNC at home??
I posted earlier in a different section and under different user, when i was at work

I've downloaded tightVNC, and Pocket VNC and some other thing called vncview (which worked).... but no luck with PocketVNC. The one that worked had one slight glitch, the file and options menus didn't appear at the top of my PDA, just a blank grey bar..... which means i can't adjust the zoom, or exit the session properly, so it's kinda useless, although it works really well.... really responsive and smooth graphics. So annoying!!

I'm just wanting to connect over my WiFi network at home, which is all working fine...... I just need a program to view on the PPC properly, so i can adjust the zoom.
Cheers,
James

Does it have to be VNC? I found Terminal Services to be quicker than VNC.

Which Pocket PC VNC client are you using?

i'm using palm os, so can't help you much with you pda, but most of the pocket PC clients are open source, and have a project mailing list, where the developers are usually very happy to help you out.

The client here comes recommended by a friend:
http://www.cs.utah.edu/~midgley/wince/vnc.html
And there's a contact address at the botom of the page, if u need any help.

No it doesn't have to be VNC.... can i use the terminal services client as a viewer for VNC??

I don't have XP Pro which i though was all that worked with.

All I want to do is control my Laptop around the house, over WiFi network.... if anybody has better suggestion than VNC I'm listeneing!!

I have used LogMeIn, was just a bit slow ad pain doing over the internet. Local network will work much quicker and easier

Cheers for the help guys...... and 'taniwha', I love your signature.... made me laugh.
It's how I feel at the moment with my new XDAIIi

No, RDP is a completely different protocol. You can only use it with a RDP server such as XP pro (single user) or Windows server (2000/2003, not sure about NT4 Server) with it.
