Hello,

Ive been having a hell of a time getting the rom update to work. I downloaded the 13+mb file about a week ago and can't seem to get it to work. The instructions are crazy, and it's getting a bit annoying. Anyone else got this top work?

What ROM update is this? For your Nokia 3650? If yes, where did you get if from?

Hey there....

I'm sorry, I'm talking about the Toshiba e740 rom update. It's an over 13mb download and it's supposed to correct many bugs. I got the link from the Geek.com website (check early August archives).

If you are updating your image via USB cradle then make sure that you have removed all cards from the PDA (SD and CF) otherwise it will not work.

Hi,

I took out all the cards, disconnected Activesync and everything, but the updater seems to freeze up after awhile. The instructions are really crazy.

if you can't flash you 740 this could be the problem, IF the computer that you are using ever had a palm connected to it you will get and error message " not compatible" Or one of the other updates did not install properly, In either case you can call Toshiba and they will flash it for you as long as you are still under you warrenty, they will even send you a box for shipment and pay for the postage, it takes about a week.

I bought the Toshiba from an auction, so I'm out of luck concerning Toshiba helping me. Do you think I could still call?

Thanks

The pda comes with a 1 year on hardware support, it does not matter who owns it , when you call them they will ask you for the serial and model # of the pda, if it has already been registerd they will let you know how much support you have left and regester the pda to you. If they tell you that it has not been regesterd yet, than give them the date that you got it, support will start from then, If the pda has a letter B at the end of the model# the warrenty is only ninty days and you may be out of luck for warrenty service, They will still repair the pda but you may have to pay for it, You can always send it to them and they will check it out and then you can decide if you want it repiared, if not they will send it back to you and they will still pay for the postage, Its worth a shot,
