Help!

I tried to sync my Ipaq to activesync last night and I think I might have erased my contact / calender information from my Pocket Pc when it asked me to compress the files.

Can you help me to retrieve my contact / calender information?

Help me!

Welcome to Geekzone...

when it asked me to compress the files
Not sure what is this... Where/when did you get this message? It is not a normal message on Pocket PC IIRC.

Sorry!

I meant when I sync my Ipaq with our PC the PC asked if I want to compress and I think I compressed it and now all of my information like games, calender, contact information is all gone off of my pocket pc.

Do you think the information is on pc and if so, can I reverse it to go back the original way it was?

Help!

Strange - never seen this message on ActiveSync before. You don't have any of your PIM on your Pocket PC now? Do you still have your PIM on Outlook?

I am trying to look for it. Should it be on the computer if it was taken from the pocket pc? Is their a place on pc that I can look for it?

All your PIM data (Calendar, Contacts, Tasks) are stored on Microsot Outlook. If it is there, you can always restore the information into your Pocket PC.

Have you tried a soft reset on your Pocket PC already?

I did a soft reset but nothing changed.

How can I find it on Outlook. Could the information be compacted some where on the laptop?

You open Microsoft Outlook, and the information will be on Calendar, Contacts, Tasks. You have to use Outlook to synchronise the Pocket PC, so you have it installed, right?

Actually it is Outlook Express.

Well, Pocket PC can only synchronise with Microsoft Outlook, not Outlook Express. All the information will be there. I guess the "Compacting" message you saw then is the standard message Outlook Express shows from time to time when doing a cleanup of its files - this has no impact whatsoever on your Pocket PC.

Simply tap the buttons corresponding to Contacts or Calendar - if it is there they're ok.

its either on there or its not. What happens when you go into your calendar or pocket oulook on the PDA? Anything there?

Is your data in Outlook (not express) ? If so, you should be able to just sync and get it all back

If they are on your computer they will be on Microsoft Outlook. You have to execute that program and check it.
