what program is used on the desktop to play video files take with ipaq. windows media player will not recognise these files.
How do you add an attachment to e-mail messages. Currently I ge a message saying that the attachment cannot be added and to check if the correct storage card is inserted despite the file to be attached is not on a storage card.
why is it that some web sites do not display completely i.e. some pictures are missing.

Welcome to Geekzone...

It depends on what video format the program uses. If the file is recorded as 3GPP then you can use Quicktime or RealVideo to play these on the desktop.

As for the attachment, could it be it is too large and there's not enough memory?

For the sites, make sure the Show Images option is set on Pocket Internet Explorer - this is a small icon on the bottom. Sometimes the server may timeout while sending files, depending on the speed of your connection. If this is the case there's not much you can do about.

Brilliant. Thanks for the prompt reply.
Item one solved. have downloaded realtime. thankyou

As for the attachments the items i have tried to attach are onlp jpeg pictures taken with ipaq's camera so shouldn't be too big. The actual message that shows when trying to attach reads;
Message attachment cannot be added. Check to make sure the correct storage card is in the device. If your device stores attachments on a storage card, you must insert a storage card to add any files to messages.
I take it that the attachments are stored on a card prior to being sent but i already have a storage card inserted with plenty of space. phew!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I do have 'show images option' set on and still pages such as streetmap.co.uk will not show map and have just tried yell.com , a local yellow pages on line, which not only does not load but turns off the explorer program even when connected directly to my broardband connection through my desktop.

Perhaps you have set the option to store attachments in the storage card, and either did a format on that card or replaced the card.

To fix it try this: open the Pocket Inbox, Tools | Options | Storage and uncheck the [Store attachments on Storage Card] box.

again thanks for the prompt response. tried this. the box was checked but even after unchecking still get the same message.

Have you tried loading yell.com on a mobiled device. still cannot get it to load. Could both problems br linked to balance between storage and program main memory. Have only got 8 storage and 13mb program memory available. Have tried to increase but do not know which files to move to ipaq storage.

We will be doing one thing at a time...

After changing that box (which may take some time to complete if there is any attachments in previous emails), close the program and soft reset - then try again.

As for the websites, some website will not show completely on your Pocket PC if they use special codes, like javascript, java, or flash.

Loading yell.com on my Pocket Internet Explorer just showed a page with their logo and "The UK's local search engine". Loading the same page but using Netfront showed the full page. So obviously it's something that Pockt Internet Explorer can not render well.
