I've searched tones of forums for the settings to use my V3 as a modem via the bluetooth connection and I can't connect. My UX50 won't even get past the dialing part.

It says:

Service Connection Progress

-> "Dialing Fido GPRS"

-> "Error: modem not found (0x1106)"

-----------------------------------------

These are the settings I have for now. I've changed and tried so many, I don't even remember them all:

for Connection:

Name: Moto V3
Connect to: Phone * also tried "modem"
Via: Bluetooth
Device: Motorola V3
Model: Generic GSM Phone

In "Details" I have: Init String:
X1E0+CMEE=1;+CSCS="GSM";V1

* Also tried -> +cgdcont=1,"IP","internet.fido.ca"

for Network:

Service: Fido GPRS
User Name: fido
Password: fido
Connection: MotoV3
Phone: *99#

In "Script" I've tried a number of commands including this one

Send: AT+cgdcont=1,"IP","internet.fido.ca"
Send CR:
Send: AT*99#
Send CR:
End:

*Also left it blank with just "End"

---------------------------------------------------

I can dial from my address book in my Clie UX50 to my Motorola V3 no problem, also transfer files back and forth, I just can't connect to the internet, and yes GPRS is activated on my phone account. Please help with settings for either my Motorola RAZR V3 or the Sony Clie UX50 or both if you know how to make it work. Thanks

Welcome to Geekzone...

I wouldn't use the long X1E... string. Instead use the CGDCONT string, but including the reset command:

Z;+CGDCONT=1,"IP","internet.fido.ca"

Also, *99# is fine if you only have one APN defined on your phone. If you have more than one, try using *99***1#, *99***2# and so on, for each APN (although you shouldn't need this if using the CGDCONT command).

I am also using a V3 and Clie UX 50 without success, can you confirm the settings you are using:

I previously used a T3 with phone link without any probs....are there no such resources for Clie users...I tried installing Phone Link on my Clie but it told me this is for PalmOne devices only !!

Should I use this string under network or connection or both ?

Z;+CGDCONT=1,"IP","02.co.uk"

And if this is a connection string then what settings should I use under network ??

If only Palm or a 3rd party would create Phone Link software !

Many thanks,
Peter.

You can use that string - the Z; is a reset command, so if you put it on the dial sequence it will reset anything sent before anyway.

Worth a try in your case...
