Hi,
I've got a 3650, Blue2 Bluetooth USB Adapter from Orange Inc, WinXP Home and Outlook 2002 and while I can get everything talking nicely, xferring files, even sync'ing calendar items, it crashes part-way through sync'ing contacts with the following error message:

"App. closed contpro_008ODCEC User 21"

Given that I can solve this problem, there are another couple of items I am curious about:

1. Do calendars and contacts save to memory card and if not, can this be set as a default?

2. Can I initiate a sync solely from the mobile instead of laptop (would be nice to initiate sitting on the lounge watching TV ;-)

3. Is there a way to automate the silly "Allow connection for next 1-10 mins that occasionally pops up in Outlook2002?"

4. Is there a way of setting a different alarm for the calendar items? I quite like that Outlook gives a small once-off alarm for calendar items however now that they are being xferred across to my 3650 I'm getting really intrusive meeting reminders that require intervention to be acknowledged and made quiet.

Any help you could offer would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers,
Cleve.

Cleve, you can have your e-mails saved to the MMC card on the Nokia 3650 by following this:

  • Start the Message application
  • Select the left button Options
  • Scroll down to Settings
  • Scroll down to Other
  • Select the Memory in use field and update it

AFAIK the sync can only be initiated from the desktop, and the annoying Outlook message is a security (?) measure implemented in one of the Office Service Packs to avoid worms using the Outlook files as a source of e-mail addresses for replication. You can't go around that (unless you're connecting to a Exchange Server and the Administrator gives some rights to your user).

Thanks freitasm for the tip re: changing memory usage in the 3650.

Do you have any ideas re: the sync problems?

    Cheers,
    Cleve.
