Hi All,

I've just picked up an Okta Touch, which has been upgraded to WM6.5.

The problem is, I called Telecom to change the number over and managed to have the ESN changed over, but I don't know how to programme the number into the phone, as Telecom only have instructions for 6.0 or 6.1 systems.

Has anyone had this problem and how can I fix it?

Cheers

Biggin

ive seen this problem before, last time i had to get the phone put back onto the original software before it could be nam'd

but you could try this first
go to the numeric keypad and type in ##778 "talk" followed by 147359
that might work to get you into the programming section.. but im not sure as i havnt tried it on 6.5

this is where a signature goes

I tried this, but the phone attempts to dial this number and I get the Telecom recorded message.

Any idea where I can look?

Hi Biggin

Just wondering 2 things to help in regards to a rom update that I'm doing soon. You say you've reflashed to 6.1 - is this a Telecom Stock 6.1 rom or just another no carrier based rom? Also, have you flashed the 6.5.3 rom that was linked, if so how do you find it?

Thanks

Jamie

Hi Jamie,

It's the Telecom 6.1, works fine, but the look is not as nice as what was on it. I haven't had time to look at the 6.5.3 yet, will leave it for a wet day.

Cheers

Hi all,

Thinking about making the jump to 6.5

Are there any gotchas with the process? Do you still need to get your HDR details first?

As long as it's an official Telecom ROM upgrade, you don't have to extract your HDR details. From what i hear, if you've previously lost your HDR password, the upgrade will restore it.

Yeps, you're right. I was thinking the WM6.0 to WM6.1 official upgrade.

Can anyone provide some info on the upgrade? I hardly use my touch due to it not being connected, but its still interesting to play around with.
Currently running telecoms official 6.1 rom, any point in upgrading?
