Spanking new Zire 72- all is okay in default mode, but camera won't work after I hotsync, which loads the files I once had in my Zire31.
After hotsync, pressing the camera button causes a blank screen flash, and nothing else.
If I do a hard reset the camera and photo software works great, but I can't get my old data to live with it!
Thanks in advance

Welcome to Geekzone... It sounds like your Restore is actually copying back system files from your older Palm device.

You have to go through your files and move the unwanted ones to another folder - then restore the Palm data.

Thanks much for the tip!

I renamed my PalmOne program folder and reloaded the software from the CD.
After another hard reset, I got the camera back, then I recovered my memos and some other data by cut and paste, rather than hotsync.

I'll try now to install Adobe reader and the the other apps I have one-by-one and see if one of the apps interferes with the camera software.

Grateful for the quick reply

Hmmm. Too much work. You could actually just have copied \Backup out of the user's folder - and when restoring the Palm all the Palm Desktop information would be restored (no need for cut and paste), keeping the user name - but without restoring any programs.

But, glad it's working now.
