I've set the Snap backlight function to auto and yet it doesn't turn the keyboard backlight on unless the room is completely dark.

1) Should it be set to auto or something else (bearing in mind I'd like to converse battery power as much as possible)?

2) Is there a manual way (ie. a keypress, say FN and something?) of turning it on and off?

Thanks.

I think its a bug on the HTC phone

I find on my HTC Snap using the light sensor to adjust keyboard brightness doesn't seem to work reliably at all. It loses settings, doesn't seem to make the keys light up as brighltly once the screen has dimmed and come back etc

I just got over it and on with my life

Agreed, don;t know if this should really be a deal breaker. Battery lif eon the Snap is very good for a Windows Mobile device, nothing to see here, move on :)

yep I would have to say the HTC Snap has the best battery life of any Windows Mobile I've ever had (and I go through about 2 a year for the past 7+ years)
