It seems Nokia thinks the N97 was a sales winner, but not so great in the user experience side:

Yeah, I concur with that...

I remember when I was trying to show off my N97 at the 2009 Geekzone Pizza night, and I struggled to do anything...post links to video I uploaded...regular reboots due to crashing/locking up...it was a pig...

At the time I put it down to new phone, new OS (for me) and my lack of expereince with such...but as time passed, it became obvious my problems were common amounst N97 owners, it was full of bugs, lacked enough memory and proccesor power and was an alround unenjoyable expereince.

Hence...it was so easy for me tol sell it so quickly and get something else.

The N900 and Maemo 5 on the other hand, is a complete joy to use.

I was offered one as an insurance replacement for my N95, I actually declined it and took a partial cash settlement, that's saying something.

Yeah the N97 promised a lot and it had good hardware but it is the integration that was lacking - hard to post videos, photos etc online...etc.

Everything just seemed to take forever to do when it should be very simple.

I think the N97 Mini has addressed most of the issues and is actually a better all-round deal than it's big brother.
