I finally found the reason as to why I haven't been able to install many applications and therefore customise my HTC Snap S523. Briefly, many of these applications need to access restricted parts of the phone and of course can't be installed because these programs don't have the correct permissions. I've known Mike for many years - we are both Microsoft MVP Mobile Devices and he's got some good information.

Just make sure you uninstall the cab after the reset - you don't need another program running on your device and all the required registry changes have already been commited by then.

Will do.

Now I just need to get the Volume Sidebar to not adjust my Ringtone Volume level.

Oh, and a workable puTTy client.
