i ahve some programs i want to make shortcuts for on my main screen; how can i do this?

I use a free program called Launcher. For a more complete approach with more options you can use Spb Pocket Plus.

Once installed it can be turned on and off on your Today screen (from the control panel), and adding shortcuts to the screen is easy: using File Explorer, find the program you want, tap and hold, select copy, change to the \launcher folder and Paste Shortcut.
