I got a message on my 'Skyfire' browser saying that as of 1st July Skyfire would no longer be supported in my country.  Dam.  Was the best mobile browser out.  Whats everyone else using ?   Here come the Opera Lovers.  Ha ha.

Got the same message on my Nokia. Loved how it consolidated my feeds as a home page. And best of all it Flash support!!! Other Symbian browsers don't have those capabilities...

Oh well, will be one less app hogging memory on my phone now. I'll have to use Opera Mini now.

Just tried Mozilla Fennec.  I was so dying to love it, it looked nice, it had a splash screen.  Ahh move to the left then the right to bring up the accessories.  But terrible UI, slow, hated it.  Right, next ZKBrowser.

Zetakey ZKBrowser, better, seemed slow on a good wifi connection. Oh I miss that click to zoom feature.  Why would you bother to have a link to Youtube on a browser that doesn't show flash.  Better than Fennec but not by much.  Yawns.  WCWeb Browser next

Ohh now I like that, UC Browser, a bit of fiddling to get it to display in Landscape mode correctly but I really do like it.  It's no Skyfire but it shows Promice.  Try this Browser if you just lost Skyfire.

Think it will be Iris or UC Browser. Would love to hear from others. Oh yeah I forgot that other browser, can't remember it's name. Internet something or other.

Skyfire issued a press release just 4 days ago talking about how wonderful they are doing on Android having seen over 500,000 downloads in the past 8 weeks.

I went to the Android Market and installed it (v2.1 beta) a few minutes ago myself. It seems to work fine. But it isn't Juy 1st yet.....so I don't know.

I've gone to Skyfire's web site and sent a message to their PR contact asking for clarification / details.

Maybe WinMo users will have to root their phones and fix things so Skyfire thinks they aren't in NZ....?

Still working on Android here. Hoping it's still working for WinMo too?

Nope.. Doesnt work on WinMo at all..

"Sorry. We regret that as of July 1 2010 Skyfire does not provide service in your country."

Going to go and install it on my Android Tablet and see if it works on that via wifi..

Skyfire is disabled on Symbian and Windows Mobile in more than just NZ. Looking on the Skyfire Facebook page you can see a lot of 'hateful' comments about it.

Android users are safe, they even get version 2, not 1.5. Looks like Skyfire feel the future is in Android...

Gutted about Skyfire dropping us.  I'm not planning on picking up an Android handset for a while yet so also in the market for a new browser.  UC Browser looks pretty good, though I miss the 'today' page box.

Anyhow, does anyone know how to get bookmarks out of Skyfire (or where it stores them) and (ideally) how to get them into UC Browser?  NewTeach, I'm looking at you...

Try this sucker for size...

Found another one,

www.uzard.com/en

Is a beta version again a browser I want to like.  Doesn't really have an intuitive interface like Skyfire did but has some features that are nifty.  Seems slow on my half decent wifi connection.
Anybody else found anything nice out there to replace Skyfire.
