anyone use either of these? preferably free

i have a bad memory so it would be handy to record calls to replay what was said (not for other reasons like blackmail or evidence) this isnt so much important but it would be really handy to have an answering machine so i dont have to waste money on voicemail everytime i miss a call and i can have the same, a recording to remember information any time i need it (directions, shopping lists, etc) without having to call multiple times when i forget.

ive tried to search and found some but i am unsure of the sites and if i can trust them, or the software, any advice would be appreciated.
